Three years ago, we began with a dream that has slowly and prayerfully blossomed into a reality. The beginning of this dream stemmed from our desire to produce a quality candle, something we would enjoy in our own home, and possibly sell at craft shows. We spent time researching and experimenting until we had produced a candle that met our expectations and we began to make our rounds at craft shows. Our business was good, our customers were reordering and our referral business boomed. As a result, www.coyercandles.com was born. This extension of our business was also successful and here, the seed was planted, the dream of eventually opening our own store.

On August 1st, 2010, our dream was made real, we had our Grand Opening at our new store and were welcomed into the downtown area with open arms. We both had to continue in our full time positions and we were again blessed to have people that we knew to be great Christians, who we could trust to run our store the way we wanted and ultimately, the way God wanted. It was our desire and plan that our store would play Christian music in the background, welcoming those who believed and serving as a blessing to those who didn't, while our staff would show patience and care for them all.

In November 2010, after much discussion and prayer, we decided that Lisa would leave her job of seven years to run the store and our business full time. This was something that would allow the flexibility of family time and the chance for her to be a blessing to others. A decision that put peace in our hearts.

In the song "Meant to Live" by Steven Curtis Chapman one of the lines of the song says, "It's a meaningful life you've been given, live it well." This is your only life, do what you love, but first and foremost, listen to what He is saying. Matthew 11:15; "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
